Country Home magazine to cease publication after March issue!

I am so incredibly bummed! This is my favorite print magazine, hands down, and to hear that it is ceasing publication after the March 2009 issue is so sad. Apparently they will also be closing down their website at the same time - killing the initial hope I had that it might continue as an online publication.

The decline of print media is snowballing at an ever increasing rate - newspapers and magazines are all struggling to survive these days. I guess it was inevitable with the rise of the internet, but I can't help but mourn it's loss...

  2. Wow, Mitzi. I really loved this magazine, too. In particular when I had a country style house, I would drop everything to gobble up every page. So sad.

  6. That stinks because I just got a notice in the mail that another one of my subscriptions is no longer being published - Cottage Living Magazine. I have every issue of that one. I love Country Home too.

  9. Well ({&@$)! So that means all three of the magazines I actually subscribe to are now dead. (Country Home, Cottage Living, ME Home Companion) What do I have to look forward to now?

  10. Yes it is truly sad to see such a wonderful magazine close their doors.
But I would like to suggest an alternative that could potentially be a great replacement for your
reading pleasure. Have any of you seen the Hobby Farm Home Magazine?
It harnesses the same essence and is truly an inspiring print publication.
As a matter of fact the magazine also received an award in Dec 2008
for best covers, editorial, & photography. Of course we will all morn the loss of “Country Home” what a great magazine!!
But living, loving and truly enjoying our country lifestyle doesn’t have to end with
County Home’s last issue in March 2009. Seek an alternative…
I strongly suggest Hobby Farm Home. It’s one of the fastest growing publication and
backed by a print industry leader Bowtie Inc. fna Fancy Publications.
Responsible for over 85 monthly publications like Dog Fancy & Cat Fancy Magazines and
has been in business for over 60+ years. But don’t just take my word for it... see for yourself.
www.hobbyfarms.com (select publications and take a look of some of their current or back issues.
My wife and I are subscribers to both magazine and we love them equally.
