I had the luck last weekend to find a small set of Midwinter Stonehenge dishes in the Sun pattern - I had never seen either the brand or the pattern before, but I loved it immediately. How could I not?:

Vintage Midwinter Stonehenge Sun Soup Bowls
Aren't they just amazing? They are Oh-So-Very-70's - the pattern was made between 1973 and 1986, as a matter of fact. There is a blue version called Moon which is equally awesome:

The serving pieces are too adorable, I wish I would have gotten some with the Sun set I found... Look at this creamer with coffee cups and saucers in the Earth pattern:

Here is a casserole dish in the Night pattern:

The coffee pots are too adorable for words - here is one in the Creation pattern:

Most of their patterns and pattern names have a kind of nature inspired, hippie-esque feel to them, but they avoid the stereotypical garish design in favor of a more subdued, modern look - which makes me love them all the more!

Custom Made Midwinter Stonehenge Spring Pattern Tidbit Serving Tray
Vintage Midwinter Stonehenge Day Bread Plate
Vintage Midwinter Stonehenge Summer Dinner Plate
What I think is really neat about the patterns is that a lot of them seem very mix and match - like you could create a set that was made up of Sun, Summer, and Day and it would be really pretty and interesting... There is also an all white pattern that you could use to fill in gaps until you found the patterned piece you were missing - the possibilities seem pretty endless!
There are lots more shapes and patterns than I can talk about here, of course, but I just had to share a few of my favorites! :)

Gorgeous! My favourite is the 2-tiered serving tray, lovely!
We have exactly the same taste in dinnerware! I loove the moon oval serving platter (and all the others)!
I was married in 1976 in the UK and still have a full set of 12 Midwinter Sun (minus 1 dinner plate I'm desperatly trying to replace before we have 12 for dinner at Xmas!) we have never tired of it.
I have collected one side plate and one sugar jar from each pattern made plus a couple of unknowns. I have nearly 100 pieces now and after the husband, the kids and the photo albums they are the next thing to save from a fire ( whoops and the dog).
am madly looking for a few of the moon mugs (mine broke while moving!) - they're hard to find! .. i love this stuff.
My family recently rented a fully furnished cabin in Ruidoso, NM which was built in the 40s and we found almost a complete set of the Creation line. I instantly fell in love with them, but had no idea what a teasure we stumbled on! Sadly we only have three of the dinner plates, but about 12-16 of each of the other pieces including mugs, saucers, bowls, and cream and sugar. I would love to complete the set but had no idea how expesive it would be. So glad I stumbled on this blog!
I´m glad I´m not the only fool with more then 12 dinersets :) All from midwinter Stonhenge
I have since my marriage 1983 Wild Oats mixed with Creation.
When my son broke 5 dinerplates at once I was searching on Internet and found more beautifull designs and I was completely lost.
Now I have not enough space anymore but still when I find a rare peace I'll bye it - all over the world.
Hope you still enjoy this beautifull dinnerware. I do still love it.

Three years since you posted this wonderful line-up, and I'm just doing a bit of research as I try to decide whether to list some of my Stonehenge pieces on my Etsy shop (Dunedin Street). I have a part coffee set of Earth, and a huge dinner set of Woodland, both of which I use. I found them both cheap in charity shops. Some of the pieces I still haven't seen on the internet, but there are also so many pieces I could have! I hadn't seen the tiered cake plate before. I'd love to display all these but our recent earthquakes have made dresser type displays too risky. Great post :-)
