Featured Collectible - Vintage Shooting Targets

I have a new mini obsession - vintage shooting targets. While I'm not really into guns, the graphic impact and slightly creepy aura of these is a combination I can't resist! Some of them are just begging to be framed and hung as a group...

(This big pack of 100 targets is especially tempting - that's enough to paper a wall, or to do something else super crafty with...)

If these are a little too creepy for you, check out some of the shooting gallery targets and toy and game targets that are out there - they are equally as cool, and often a lot more colorful:

What do you think? Am I way out in left field thinking these are something to decorate your home with? Or can you share my vision?

  1. I never in a million years would have considered these before, until this post! The graphics are alot of fun, whether you're into guns or not. And I would LOVE to have that cast iron rabbit!

  2. I am absolutely in love with these. Like Carol, they'd never crossed my mind, but now that they have...I sense some ebay commitments in my near future. The fox with his bird kill, the man silhouette, and the raven are my favorites. Imagine them framed, in clustered groupings, over a couch! I am in fits. Thanks for sharing!!

  5. These are really great! I love the clean graphic styling and the contrast of cute animals in immediate peril! Call me weird, but I'd decorate with these. I really like the wooden flip targets with the birds :-) Great gallery!

  11. I have never seen those before, but I can definitley see your vision! They would be cool framed or even decopauged onto a cool old piece of furniture, or lineing drawers...SO many things you could do with those! :)

  12. I love them and am glad you put them on your blog. We have an old Daisy bullseye gracing our office wall, they look great framed and are great conversation starters! I have never seen most of the ones in this post so this is an eye opener. I just found part of an old pinball machine in the trash, it's the entire playfield from 1961, we're sticking that on the wall too. I so love having things on my wall that haven't caught on....yet... I love your blog!

  13. I'd say the cast iron bunny is a boot scrapper rather than a target. Can't think of anyone with a lick of sense who would want bullets rickashaying off of those.

Wouldn't mind having one though, with mud season bearing down upon us.
