Vintage Marshall Field Christmas Catalog Super Score!

At the estate sale I went to last weekend there were a TON of books - I mean seriously, it was a sight to behold. Besides the bazillion vintage cookbooks I came home with (that's a whole other post on its own) I found a box full of vintage Marshall Field Christmas catalogs! Most are from the 60's, though there are a few from the late 50's and 70's thrown in there too, and most are still in the envelope they were mailed in... It amazes me what people keep sometimes - but thank goodness they do it!

I wish I had time to scan all the pages in, they are chock full of great stuff! But, no time, so I just scanned in a few representative examples... Only two of the catalogs are for kids, the others are full of grown up gifts like clothing, jewelry and housewares. A total drool fest... OK, I guess I'll just shut up and show you! (click to enlarge, as always!)

  2. In all my years of thrifting, I have come across so few vintage catalogs. I would love to have found these. Are you planning to list any? I just adore looking at these photos of the past especially since we find the items featured at estate sales. A wonderful glimpse of the past.

  5. That is just so cool! Growing up in Chicago and being a fan of Marshall Field's, even today, that's a great find. The styles are amazing. I miss Fields', sorry Macy's here in Chicago just isn't right.
