Collection Complete - Vintage Better Homes & Gardens Decorating Books

I did it! It only took a few years, but I have successfully thrifted all the vintage Better Homes & Gardens binder style decorating books. Check it out:

Last weekend I found the elusive 1956 turquoise cover one at an estate sale for 50 cents (!!). Technically my collection was complete then, but since I had the gold boxed version of the 1961 edition rather than the black cover version, I thought well, I will try to get that too - and then I will be content.

So what do I find this weekend at an estate sale for $1.00? Yep - the last piece of the puzzle. The thrifting gods were on my side!

Now I just need to start scanning pages...

Hooray for Spring! Tons of AMAZING new goodness up for grabs!

Like I mentioned the other day, last weekend was my first really good weekend of shopping out at the sales - I came home with so much great stuff I was positively giddy! After a long winter it was SO nice to be out in the nice weather treasure hunting again...

So, be prepared, this is going to be a long post - I'm in love with so much of what I found that I won't be able to leave much out... ;) As always, click the photos to enlarge, or click the link under the photo to go check out the listing and see all the other photos!

(These are nice and large - 14"x30" - they would be so awesome over a couch!)

(You don't know how hard it is for me to part with this... WOW.)

(I already have one of these, or it wouldn't be for sale!)

(These are such a must have for a mid century decor!)

(This typewriter is SO NICE - and it has the coveted glass keys, in an unusual shape!)

(Another really, really want to keep score... *sigh*)

(I've never seen a double one before!)

Ok, I've worn myself out... lol There is more though, click on over if you want to see the rest! And wish me luck - I have a big day of shopping tomorrow... :D

Vintage 1970's Wallpaper Samples - YUM.

I had a *great* weekend out at the sales - I found so much cool stuff, I can't wait to show it to you once I have it all listed! One thing I found and listed last night I have to go ahead and show you now, because it really does deserve its own post - it is a sample book of vintage vinyl wallpaper. There is no date on it, but I would guess from the papers that it is from the 70's.

It has dozens of papers, in all kinds of patterns - including a few that are metallic! I think the previous owner was using it for craft projects, some of the pages are cut and some are loose, but the majority are there and unharmed. It is great as a reference too - you just don't see this kind of thing every day!

Ok, let's look at some of the papers - you might want to grab a bib, it's a little hard not to drool looking at these... ;) Click to enlarge!

Of course this isn't all of the papers in the book, it is just a sampling - if you want to see them all you will just have to place a bid! ;)

New auctions? Why, yes indeed!

I haven't had much to list at auction the last couple of weeks - sale season took its sweet time gearing up this year, and I am most definitely at the bottom of the barrel as far as my "to be listed" shelves are concerned... But, I have scored a few new things, and this weekend is shaping up to be the first really great shopping weekend of the season - so expect more new goodness soon!

On a side note, the "stores to core" change on eBay isn't shaping up to be all that... I had great luck in March moving store items to fixed price and making sales - but once *everything* from *everyone* got moved to fixed price sales have dipped. A lot. So I am thinking that my "I won't need to run so many auctions" theory could be dead in the water... time will tell! (I'm not the only vintage seller reporting a drop in sales for April either - apparently it is a pretty universal plight...)

Ok, on to the goodies! ;)

There's more, as always... click on over if you want to check out the rest! :)

Vintage 70's Clackers Toy + Garage Sale Photos!

(Note: The Clackers are SOLD now - sorry!)

I'm multi tasking with this post, if you will forgive my laziness... ;)

First, I was digging through a filing cabinet earlier today and came across these:

Never opened, still in their original packaging Win Industries Clackers from 1971! I found them a while back and listed them on eBay, but the listing got pulled because they are a recalled toy - apparently kids were banging themselves up pretty good with them back in the day!

Anyway, if you want them drop me an email at vintagegoodness@gmail.com - the first person to email me gets them for $20 plus shipping! (My Gmail has been down all day, by the way, so it could take a little while for me to see your email...)

Next, I've been working hard the last couple of weeks getting ready to have a garage sale with my parents at their place - as most of you probably know it is a TON of work! I finally finished up today and snapped a few photos (click to enlarge):

As you can see, TONS of STUFF! Here is the Craig's List ad I just posted, if you are in the Columbus Ohio area you need to come shop! :)

Oh and before I go, I still don't have the newsletter done - there was a glitch and I lost part of what I had done that I now have to go in and re-do, and I've been too busy this week so far to get back to it... I hope to have it out soon though! *fingers crossed*
