My 1980's Christmas List - Recreated via Wish Book Web & eBay

One of my favorite sites EVER is Wish Book Web. It is completely devoted to scans from old Christmas catalogs - SO fun to look through! I was browsing around the 1983 and 1985 Sears catalogs the other day, looking at all the great toys I drooled over back when I was 8 and 10 years old, compiling mile long Christmas lists from those very pages. I thought, I wonder how many of those things I could find for sale online now, on eBay? Sounds like a great blog post in the making! :)

I loved Garfield and Odie! I think I had one of each back in the day, too...

I was a total Barbie fanatic when I was a kid - and oh, how I wanted the Dream House! I never got it, but I did have a sweet camper and Corvette, so I wasn't complaining too much...

I loved the Smurfs too, what 80's kid didn't? I had a Smurfette doll and a collection of the little figurines...

I had a couple Care Bear dolls if I remember right, but I don't think I ever had the little figurines - but I do remember playing with them, so one of my friends must have had some. Which means of course I wanted some too! ;)

Ahhh, Strawberry Shortcake - what wasn't there to love? Cute and yummy smelling, with lots and lots of toys and accessories. I had the metal lunchbox, it served me well in elementary school...

I lived on my roller skates. They were plain white, nothing fancy, but they were one of my most favorite things in my whole little world!

The Cabbage Patch Kids fad didn't pass me by - I had a little boy preemie and a blonde girl, and was SO happy to get them! They are probably still floating around at my parent's house, I would imagine...

I remember really wanting a Wuzzle, the elephant one specifically, I thought it was so cute! I don't think I ever got one, but I do remember my friend having a couple that we played with...

Of course you couldn't be a little girl in the 80's and not have a My Little Pony... I had Glory, but I never got a whole bunch of them like some girls did - I remember wanting more, but not dying over it, I was much more into my Barbies. :)

Ok 80's kids, what was on YOUR Christmas list when you were a kid? Feel free to wax nostalgic in the comments! :)

Free Vintage Clip Art - Health & Medical Antique Illustrations

I was listing some pages from a 1924 home health book on Etsy this week, and put aside a few to offer up here for use as clip art. I saved them at 300 DPI so they are nice and big, for whatever you want to use them for - just click the image to enlarge, then right click - save as to save it to your computer. Enjoy!

Dear Santa - My eBay Christmas List

A couple of weeks ago I made Santa a Christmas list via Etsy Treasury. I think I had better make an eBay list for him too - who knows where he prefers to shop? Hopefully both places - I've been really good this year, I swear! :)

(This is on my holy grail list!)

(I have all the the Selected journals, I'm excited to get the complete ones, this is just the first, there are more to come apparently!)

(I need a new purse, this one is fun and looks like it could take a beating...)

(I don't know if I've been quite good enough for these! lol)

(I just finished the 4th book in this series, it has become one of my favorites!)

(I need new curtains for the downstairs, 3 big windows worth.)

(Also on my holy grail list!)

(My favorite Austen movie - if you haven't seen it you should check it out!)

(The Westwood mug I don't have yet.)

(I love love love Harry Clarke, this is kind of rare, with the box and dust jacket!)

I think I've bothered Santa enough now for this year - here's hoping you all get everything on your Christmas lists! :)

New goodness on eBay and Etsy this week!

I decided to tackle the backlog of paper items that I have waiting to be listed on Etsy this week - I made a small dent, with hopefully much more to come between now and the end of the year. I did list a few auctions also though, let me show you those first then I'll give you a peek at the new stuff in the Etsy shop. :)

I listed three of the six genie bottle decanters, I'll list the other three next week:

I also listed three of the flatware sets I picked up at the estate sales a couple weeks ago:

And a few other random goodies:

And, the paper on Etsy...

I scored a nice lot of 1950's grocery store trading stamp posters, there are 4 of each design, and I don't think any of them were ever hung, just folded and stored away...

I listed all the Nicholas Volpe Academy Award winner prints that I have, except for Jimmy Stewart - I kept that one. :) Cliff over at Immortal Ephemera has a great post about the history of the set, if you want to read a bit more about it. Here are a couple of my favorites (besides Jimmy!), or click on over if you want to see them all:

I started listing maps from a big set I scored a while back, they are 1970's reproductions of really old maps from the 1500s-1800s. Very colorful, and they have a blurb on them with a bit of history about the map and the area during the time, pretty neat! I'm not done listing all that I have, but if you want to see what I've got up so far just click on over to check them out.

And finally, I am plugging away at listing the photo flash cards I posted about a couple weeks ago - I was rewarded for my efforts yesterday, I sold one to a TV show! The lady said she wasn't allowed to tell me the name, but gave me a hint, so I am pretty sure which one it is going to... Here's a hint for you, maybe you can guess too:

Here is the one they bought:

Click on over if you want to see the rest, I still have a LOT more to list, but I'm making progress on the stack, slowly but surely... :)
