Pottery Super Score, Concrete Blonde, and a Swap Vintage Update

This is probably going to be a long post, so grab a cuppa and a snack - you were warned. :)

I'm still recovering from my night out on the town last night - I saw one of my all time favorite bands, Concrete Blonde, along with one of my other favorites, Jim Bianco, who opened. You can see me raving about it on my Facebook profile - with video. :)

Me (in the middle) and my friends Corey and Gary cheesin outside the show.

In other awesome news, there are now 35 people signed up over at Swap Vintage! I'm getting tons of great feedback and lots of encouraging comments about the site and the idea in general - I couldn't be more excited! Have you signed up yet? Let's get to swappin! :)

And before I get to the Pottery Super Score - and what a doozy it is! - I have to say a happy belated Birthday to the other half of Vintage Goodness. The behind-the-scenes man, my partner in crime, oh yeah and my boyfriend of 5 years:

 Will
(who is, and always will be, younger than me - no matter how many birthdays he has)

We had a little birthday cookout last weekend for him, I posted more photos over on Facebook if you want to check them out. A good time was had by all. :)

OK - now that all of that is out of the way, let's get down to the goodness - the vintage pottery goodness, to be exact... Last weekend I went to a sale by a collector who was moving. He had a 2 car garage packed FULL of lamps, vases, planters, etc. by the likes of Royal Haeger, Hull, Gonder, and others. It was a sight to behold. I just wish I could have seen the 1500 (!!) pieces that he was taking with him to his new home!

I also wish I would have had more money to shop. I bought as much as I could, but I had to leave some really great stuff behind. Isn't it funny how no matter how much you love what you do buy, it's the things you don't that you think about the most?

Well, best not to dwell... let's look at what I did get, all up at auction as we speak!

See, I told ya - a doozy! I did manage to list a couple of other things besides pottery too - just click on over to check it all out :)

Excellent find! You're right about the pieces we don't get to buy, the grass is always greener on the other side right?

I especially adore the Asian man planter, the glaze glistens superbly.

Wish I could have seen his whole collection. He has good taste that's for sure. Was he selling because he didn't have any room at his new place?

Yes he was moving to a condo with no basement. :(
