Vintage JC Penney Fall / Winter 1967 Fashion Catalog
I LOVE finding old catalogs - and this one is AWESOME. It is too thick to fit onto my scanner, so I had to snap some photos of the pages with my camera - not ideal, but it gives you a decent idea of all the 60's goodness that is inside...

Things are starting to really get rolling over at Swap Vintage - we are almost at 50 members, and people are posting items available to be traded, including this beauty:
It's an old glass bank - how cool is that?!?
Anyway, I wanted to go ahead and post the press release I wrote for the site launch here, in case any of you wanted to have something to post on your blogs to help me spread the word. :)
The Press Release:
Do you have vintage and antique collectibles around the house that you know are great, but don't really need or want anymore?
Did you buy a box lot at an auction or an estate sale to get that one special item inside, and don't know what to do with the leftovers?
Is your collection outgrowing your space, or do you have duplicates that you don't know what to do with?
Are you a crafter or artist who uses vintage supplies in their work, and need to destash your studio?
There is now a way for you to take all those little gems and put them to work for you - SwapVintage.com!
Swap Vintage is a unique online trading community set up specifically for members to be able to swap vintage items with one another - you can take those items that you have, and trade them for things that you really want!

Pottery Super Score, Concrete Blonde, and a Swap Vintage Update
This is probably going to be a long post, so grab a cuppa and a snack - you were warned. :)
I'm still recovering from my night out on the town last night - I saw one of my all time favorite bands, Concrete Blonde, along with one of my other favorites, Jim Bianco, who opened. You can see me raving about it on my Facebook profile - with video. :)
In other awesome news, there are now 35 people signed up over at Swap Vintage! I'm getting tons of great feedback and lots of encouraging comments about the site and the idea in general - I couldn't be more excited! Have you signed up yet? Let's get to swappin! :)
And before I get to the Pottery Super Score - and what a doozy it is! - I have to say a happy belated Birthday to the other half of Vintage Goodness. The behind-the-scenes man, my partner in crime, oh yeah and my boyfriend of 5 years:
We had a little birthday cookout last weekend for him, I posted more photos over on Facebook if you want to check them out. A good time was had by all. :)
OK - now that all of that is out of the way, let's get down to the goodness - the vintage pottery goodness, to be exact... Last weekend I went to a sale by a collector who was moving. He had a 2 car garage packed FULL of lamps, vases, planters, etc. by the likes of Royal Haeger, Hull, Gonder, and others. It was a sight to behold. I just wish I could have seen the 1500 (!!) pieces that he was taking with him to his new home!
I also wish I would have had more money to shop. I bought as much as I could, but I had to leave some really great stuff behind. Isn't it funny how no matter how much you love what you do buy, it's the things you don't that you think about the most?
Well, best not to dwell... let's look at what I did get, all up at auction as we speak!

Will
(who is, and always will be, younger than me - no matter how many birthdays he has)

Mary Engelbreit HOME COMPANION Magazine
We've talked a lot here about the demise of some of the great shelter magazines (RIP Country Home, I still miss you!). Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion magazine is one of the fallen ones, and I was lucky enough to find a HUGE lot of them at a church book sale a couple of weeks ago. There are 7 complete years, which I have up at auction right now, and several individual issues that I listed at fixed price. If you are a Mary Engelbreit fan, snatch them up while you can!
And if there is a shelter magazine that is still being published that you like, be sure to support them - they are still hurting and need all the help they can get!

Our Mission:
The Etsy Vintage Team (EVT) is an organization of Etsy sellers who are passionate about vintage, as well as items that are handmade with vintage components. By vetting members to ensure their shops maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer service, the team provides a "stamp of approval" - reassurance to buyers that they are purchasing authentic vintage goods from a knowledgeable, trustworthy dealer.
EVT is also involved in promoting the sale and appreciation of vintage on Etsy on other venues, including Flickr, our website, Twitter, and other social networking sites. EVT members serve as resources for one another - sharing information, answering questions, and providing support on all aspects of selling vintage on Etsy.

Hunting For Vintage Dishes - Audio Interviews w/ Kimbesa's Closet
The other day I had a great time doing a little audio interview swap with the wonderful Sally K from Kimbesa's Closet and Diary Of A Dishie. We chatted about vintage dinnerware, shopping for vintage, and our favorite finds. Click on over to listen to both clips!
